Forensic Biology / DNA Analyst position
Qualifications include knowledge of advanced laboratory techniques and instrumentation; previous forensic DNA laboratory experience; a minimum of a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, forensic science, or a related field with a minimum of 12 semester hours of coursework covering the subject areas of biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, statistics and population genetics. Must possess knowledge of PCR, STRs, capillary electrophoresis and the use of computer programs to run instrumentation and analyze data; knowledge of FBI-QAS and ASCLD-LAB standards and how to maintain compliance within the laboratory; knowledge of good laboratory safety and quality control procedures; computer skills (excel); and general problem solving. Applicants must have completed a training program, compiled casework and/or validation experience, or be current in proficiency testing for consideration.
